Explain this to me. Why don’t people reply to emails or letters any more?
I have spent the past week sending out, by email and by regular post, a catalogue of a new range of products that I have been working on. It took me ages to put all the material together, gather contact details and send it to all those who I thought would appreciate what I have been working so hard on recently. I must have contacted nearly everyone in my contact list and I have not received even a hint of an acknowledgement yet.
I sent these emails to friends before contacting my clients, just so I would get an honest opinion from them. Apart from one person I know, not a single ‘friend’ has even responded with a “thanks, I got it” reply. How much does that take?
A friend sent me a collection of her photographs recently and I have to say, they were absolutely beautiful. I saw them, appreciated them and told her so. If someone has taken the time to send you something that she has worked her butt off on and thinks your opinion is important, give her at least two minutes to say “great”.
I’ve got much better responses from clients than from my personal contact list, so I’ve now decided to take a back seat, stay mum and sulk for a bit. I may change my mind tomorrow but for now a big RASPBERRY to all you guys……bllllllttttttzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Someone said this and I think it's totally apt: "If E-mail had been around before the telephone was invented, people would have said "hey, forget e-mail - with this new telephone invention I can actually talk to people".
